1st June 2015 Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 24-30kts Surf / Sea State: waves Air Temperature: 13C Sea Temperature: ok Weather: sunny cloudy Max Speed: 23.16 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 12.3 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) 1st session this year! previous wind died on rigging. This time the total opposite, good waves on the inside choppy outside. Maker, Strawb on 5's small bds, but it didn't look 25kts so went 6.2 Hellcat, but never launched as the wind howled thru nearly smashing the sail. Rigged 5.7 Hellcat and to be honest I should have listen to the guru's and rigged 5.0. Launched my 105 Fanatic freewave and was overpowered the whole time on the turn. Really nice waves coming back in, and great to sit between the sets accelerating at anytime yet staying between. However I had a 3* day no completing any gybes as the bd accelerated downwind and lost control on the rigged flip. Waterstart was a nightmare as thrown over the top most time. I was just too lazy to rig again. All the guys had 5 star day riding some clean waves on the way in. Nice day and happy on first ride out. probably could have got away with a true 5.7 wave sail, instead of the outrageously powerful 5.7 Hellcat |
